Frequently asked
A link I saved has no title
Some sites refuse automated requests; in that case the card shows the site name. You can try again from the card's ⋯ menu with Fetch title. If no link ever gets a title, the Diagnostics screen in the menu will say where the problem is.
I'm changing phones — how do I move my library?
On the old phone: menu → Send to another device. On the new one: menu → Load from code → scan the QR code. If there's no camera you can type the code by hand. The package is encrypted and the decryption key is inside the code, so pass the code through a channel you trust.
I forgot my vault password
Unfortunately it cannot be recovered. The vault is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your password; the password is stored nowhere and never reaches us. We cannot send a reset link because we do not hold the key that would open it.
I used "clear app data" and everything is gone
That tells Android to wipe all storage belonging to the app, and it cannot be prevented from inside the app. The app writes an automatic backup to your Documents folder once a day; when the library opens empty it looks for that backup and offers to restore it. You can also set up regular backups to your own folder from the Backup screen in the menu.
Can I back up to Google Drive automatically?
Not fully automatically yet. Android's folder picker does not offer Drive as a folder. Use Send to cloud on the Backup screen to send a backup to Drive, Dropbox or email through the share menu. Scheduled backups are written to a folder on your device.
Why does the app read my clipboard?
To offer to save a link if one is on the clipboard when you open the app. The clipboard text is not sent anywhere. On Android 12 and later the system tells you whenever this happens — that's where the notification comes from.
Can I import my browser bookmarks?
Yes. Export your bookmarks as HTML from your browser, then in the app choose menu → Import browser bookmarks. Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge are supported, and your folders become tags.
If a page goes offline, does my saved article go too?
Not if you archived it beforehand. From the card's ⋯ menu choose Archive page text; the text is saved on your device and search works inside it even after the site is gone.
Why does the app ask for so few permissions?
Because there are no accounts, no server and no analytics. Apart from internet access, the only permissions asked for belong to features you use: the camera for QR codes, biometrics for the vault, and the folder you pick for backups. Details are in the privacy policy.
Reporting a problem
If something goes wrong, include the information from the Diagnostics screen in the menu (the version number and the state of each line) in your email — it makes finding the cause much faster.
